You should cut the chip. If the card is not cancelled by UOB and the chip is still in one piece, the card is still usable.

I bet you KNNCCB them when calling the card center to cancel the card. Expecially the part of ,”Sorry sir/miss, we can’t cancel your card from the phone, you must send the card cutted in half by mail or to our nearest branches”.
And some bank will issue “loyalty” gold card to you after many years with them, do not activate it unless you want to pay RM150-RM250 annual “renewal fees”.

If you don’t even spend RM80 per month on the card, you don’t really need the card. Good move on your part!

Do NOT use this card. I made a transfer to my card and never got it. They can’t even afford a toll free number, that ought to tell you something! Still trying to get my money but keep getting disconnected, how hard can it be to transfer a call to a manager? Now, on the the BBB and Federal Reserve Bank to file fraud charges!!!!!!
